36th AICC INTERNATIONAL MEETING – HIJACKING THE «GOOD» PATHWAYS

36 aicc-meeting roma

CONFERENCE AIMS

HIJACKING THE «GOOD» PATHWAYS:

cancer, immunity and therapeutic approaches

The intricate regulation of different signaling pathways is essential for embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis.

The role of these pathways ranges from modulation of proliferation and differentiation, staminality, cell death, genome stability, cell metabolism, inflammation and immunity.

These “good” pathways may be altered during the process of cancer development, either by suppression or enhancement of their signalling, and cancers commonly display aberrant activity within several of these pathways. Like everything in life, too much or not enough of a signal may be similarly detrimental.

A deeper understanding of the modulations and alterations of these pathways may provide a significant advancements in novel therapeutical, diagnostic and prognostic tools.
This year’s meeting will focus on:

▪ Developmental pathways and their role in tumorigenesis, invasion and metastasis

▪  The role of immunity, immuno-evasion and tumor microenvironment.

▪  New tools, markers and approaches for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes

Looking forward for meeting you,

Prof. Enrico De Smaele
Scientific Coordinator

Prof. Michele Caraglia
